Why Almond Day?
Today is to recognize and to explore more about the benefits of a stony fruit, Almond.Almond does not need any introduction, however, hope you do not know about the botanical features and it’s health centric importance.This day is to discuss and explore in detail.
Almond is a stone fruit consisting of thick, leathery cover known as Hull. Beneath it, a harder layer called shell covering the seed (edible part) lies.
Almonds are rich in fiber, magnesium, riboflavin, manganese, vitamin E, calcium and potassium. Similar to other nuts almonds are rich in fat when taken in right proportion (about 23 almonds in a day),it produces good fat which acts as energy fuel.Almonds when consumed with its brown skin unpeeled contains flavonoids which reduce inflammation and increases antioxidant production in our body.

Fire cracker almonds:
Ingredients:
Chilli powder-2 tbsp
Garlic powder-1tbsp
Curry powder-1tbsp
Roasted California almonds-2 cups
Pepper sauce – 1/2 tbsp
Almond/Olive oil-1 tbsp
Place mixed chilli powder, garlic powder, curry powder and oil in a medium heated pan. Heat it until it raises hot bubbles. Now spread almonds over the mixture in the pan and stir it until each almonds is coated with mixture (approx 3-5 mins). Turn off the flame and cool the roasted almonds. Spread pepper sauce over it and allow it to cool before serving.

small tip for dull-free skin:
Apply few drops of almond oil on your face and gently massage your cheeks upwards. Wash it after 10 minutes to get smoother and dull-free skin.
A tip to manage frizzy hair:
Mix equal amount of almond oil, olive oil and castor oil and apply it in your hair. Massage well for 15 minutes and wash it with mild shampoo. Repeat it twice in a week to get smooth and lustrous hair.
