Daniel Boone worked as a market hunter to support his family by collecting pelts and he was also an officer in Militia captured by Shawnee warriors. Unlike other prisoners, he was inducted into the tribe which he later left to defend the settlements in Virginia. He settled down later in Eastern Missouri spending the last years of his life there. There have been many places in the country named after this pioneer and rightfully so.

- John Filson wrote a book by the name, “The Adventures of Colonel Daniel Boone” in the year 1784 and it was published on the 50th birthday of Daniel Boone.
- In the honor of President George Washington, the first of the monuments on the South Mountain was erected by the Boonesborough citizens on the Appalachian Trail. This was in the year 1827.
- It was in the year 1934 when Kentucky’s Kaelin’s Restaurant served the very first cheeseburgers.
- KFCs popular recipe was finalized by Colonel Sanders in the year 1940 in Corbin, in his restaurant in the state.
- The first of the English-speaking communities was established in Fort Boonesbourough to the western side of the Appalachian Mountains.
- The Cherokee and Shawnee Indians abducted the daughter of the frontiersman Daniel Boone who managed to find her in just three days. This happened in 1776 when he traced not just his daughter but also another two girls and saved them.
