Why National Farm Rescuer Day
A farmer’s year and their whole family’s future is dependent upon many unforeseen and uncontrollable factors. Farmers are the backbone of a country, but often their efforts and hardships are overseen. National Farm Rescuer Day is an opportunity to thank the farmers and the people of the organization Farm Rescue who help these farmers stay strong!
Farm Rescue is a non-profit organization that helps thousands of farmers and their families in time of help and provides them with assistance with planting, haying, and harvesting, and many other services free of cost! Farmers and their families can face financial difficulties due to many reasons, such as natural calamities like drought or storms, which can cause their harvest to suffer. The Volunteers help these farmers financially and emotionally, and the farmers are grateful to Farm Rescues!
Farm Rescue has helped over 700 farms and the families dependent upon them. Bill Gross, the founder of the organization, grew up on a farm himself and had seen the troubles his family had to go through to keep their farm running. This is why he chose to help other farmers in need. The North Dakota based organization works around in many South West American states like Montana and Kansas. They focus on small farms and ranches.
Since there are many large farms owned by the big organization, small shareholders tend to suffer from the lack of availability of resources. These small farmers cannot compete with the big companies. The government’s policies and aids seem to benefit these capital organizations more, leaving the smaller independent farmers to feel ignored. The Farm Rescue organization works on a community based and holistic approach. The volunteers are there to help the farmers through the time of financial burden, family health problems, or any natural disasters!
The National Farm Rescuer Day is marked as the occasion to celebrate the people who have supported the Farm Rescue organization and brought it so far ahead. The supporters include the volunteers who have devoted many services and hard work, the patrons and donors who helped the great cause and helped these ranch and farming families. A day of recognition is a gesture to thank these people and organizations and keep them motivated!
The National Farm Rescuer Day is also a great opportunity to share and raise awareness about the difficulties the farmers and their families face and the helplessness that makes it hard for them to continue nourishing their families without taking loans and debts.
