Come the first week of winter, and lo behold! A memorial day to commemorate those who died homeless: The National Homeless Persons Remembrance Day. A day for every American and every human being to offer a moment of solace for the less privileged who lived under the sky and not the roof.
Homelessness whatever the cause there maybe, you and I also are partakers indirectly in this inhumane tragedy that millions around us are facing. So even as the National Homeless Persons Remembrance Day dawns upon us, let this be that time of the year for us all to pledge allegiance to the cause of the homeless.

There are various ways in which this day is commemorated. Candlelight vigils, Debates on policies governing the Homeless, religious services, and even tweets and posts on social media are not uncommon are remembering this day.
This day should also remind you and me about our social responsibility towards those around us. The first thing is to remember that YOU can make a difference. We’ve probably walked right past these Heroes a hundred times.

This memorial now brings together many states, organizations, and communities in changing the way the world looks at the Homeless. However, the founder and the first memorial of this day remain unknown to our research.
