It is believed that Sandy Sharky founded this day in 1998. She happened to be working at a radio station, 93.9 BOB FM in Ontario, Canada! She eventually came up with a website for this day www.menmakedinnerday.com for which on November 9th, 2001, she received a Canadian trademark #1, 115,706 for the name and the event. Sandy says she created this day so that she would get at least one meal a year that would be prepared by her husband who doesn’t like cooking!
Although research suggests that there seem to be no proclamations from the President or Congress to consider this as a “National Day”
