A joint resolution was filed in the House of Representatives on August 5, 1994, to “designate the Fourth Sunday in July as Parents’ Day.” The House of Representatives passed it on September 30, and the State legislature followed suit on October 4. On October 14, 1994, President Bill Clinton signed a bill that launched National Parents’ Day.
