Why National Manufacturing Day?
The United States is a country where products and new technology are developing continuously to grow the country’s economy. The people of this country celebrate this day to honor these people doing the entire manufacturing process.
The main goal of national manufacturing is to inspire the upcoming generation by celebrating and honoring the manufacturers. So, the role of the manufacturers and their importance should spread to the ordinary people. The manufacturing industry is an excellent opportunity to start your career. There is a high volume of jobs available in this industry as the country is continuously manufacturing products and developing new technologies for the sake of the economy’s growth.
Whenever a new product or a new technology comes up in the market, all the rewards and recognition goes to the company and its owners. They indeed had the main idea and design of the product. But the same acknowledgment should go for the workers who manufactured the product in the workshop or factory. But in most cases, their names are not being mentioned. That is why in the year 2012, the first National manufacturing day has been celebrated in the country with the companies’ manufacturers.
It is being estimated that over the next decade, near about 3.5 million job openings will be there in the manufacturing industry. Hence, there is a huge job opportunity for the upcoming generation. The most important part of this is to be a manufacturing worker; you do not require a high level of education and skills. All you need is to have the basic knowledge of the product, that’s all.
The manufacturing institute listed three main priorities of the national manufacturing day. These are:
- Perception of careers in manufacturing should be changed to reflect its actual status as the Hi-Tech and most advanced industry in the United States
- To re-establish the United States of America as the leader of the manufacturing education in the world.
- To create more opportunities for education and job training, strengthening the manufacturing workforce of the United States.
The manufacturers are the backbone of any company. They’ve been working continuously to produce and manufacture the products so that they can reach the market on time. This special day’s ultimate goal is to help these diversified and qualified manufacturers and give the people more opportunities to join this industry. It will also help the local economy of the middle-class people in the upcoming decades.
Since 2012, the country has taken this great initiative seriously. All the states of the country arrange different programs to celebrate this day every year. In some places, the large scale companies offer new job vacancies for the ordinary people in the industry as a manufacturer on this special day.
You must have read in the history books that the workers were mistreated during the old days. They had been treated as one of the lower caste people in society. The company owners force them to work continuously without food and rest. As the children read these stories in their history books, they have a negative feeling regarding this. This initiative has also been taken to change this mindset by letting people know that no technology would come into the market without these manufacturers.
